ChartWatch: Roy Wood & Wizzard Hit 44 Year Christmas High

The Official UK Album Chart Top 100 published earlier today (Friday 29th December) revealed that "Wembley Or Bust" by Jeff Lynne's ELO is down eleven places from #29 to #40 this week whilst "All Over The World" has also slipped seven places from #43 to #50.

In other news, Roy Orbison's orchestral overview "A Love So Beautiful" has clocked up an eighth week in the Top 10 in dropping to #10 from #7 with "The Ultimate Collection" also at #90. Meanwhile, Bryan Adams' latest career compilation "Ultimate" has nudged up from #63 to #61 meaning that ELO maestro Jeff Lynne has a hand in no less than five Top 75 albums this week!

Over in the Official Top 100 Singles Chart, the sensational news is that Wizzard have leaped an impressive eight (8) places from #23 to #15 with "I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday" meaning that their perennial festive fave has achieved its highest chart placing*** since it peaked at #4 in 1973 (matching its performance in 2007) and also giving Roy Wood his first UK Top 20 single in ten years!
